Bringing the Magic Back!

A little about us, our founders, and the "No-Phone" promise.

Our Story: From Video Aisles to Movie Nights

We miss the magic of Friday nights.

Growing up in the '80s and '90s, movie night was the undisputed highlight of the week. I can still vividly recall the soft blue glow of the VCR, the nostalgic scent of the local video store, and the salty warmth of fresh microwave popcorn. Whether we were snagging the latest blockbuster or rewinding a favorite VHS for the tenth time, movies were the heartbeat of my childhood.

That passion led to my very first job at the local cinema. It was there, amidst the smell of buttered popcorn and the flickering projector light, that I met the love of my life at just 17.

Fast forward 27 years. We built our life on a shared cinematic language—countless dates chasing new releases and cozy nights in with a fresh rental. We always dreamed of passing that magic down to our own children. But as life got busier, we realized the "analog magic" was disappearing.

Our Mission: The "No-Phone" Promise

Decision fatigue is real. Between work, scouting, and homework, planning "quality time" often feels like just another chore. We looked around and saw our kids on games and ourselves on phones. We created Making Movie Memories to hit the pause button on the digital world.

Our mission: You provide the family. We’ll provide the magic.

We do the curation, the decorating, and the planning. You just provide the family. Our 'No-Phone Policy' isn't a rule—it's an invitation to be present."
